Warnick sidelined by equestrian accident

Republican Rep. Judy Warnick is recovering from injuries suffered when she was thrown from a horse.

The Moses Lake Republican writes on her legislative web site:

“I want you to hear from me that I was in a horse accident this weekend and broke my pelvis in two places. I was taken to the emergency room at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake. From there, I was taken to Spokane. I am so appreciative of all the care I received at both facilities! The doctors decided I do not need surgery, which is good news. I will be recovering for some time, and have a set of wheels around with me.

While she’s out, House Minority Leader Richard DeBolt, R-Chehalis, will take her spot on the House Capital Budget Committee, according to the chairman of the caucus, Rep. Dan Kristiansen, R-Snohomish.

Kristiansen said it’s a bit unusual for the House Minority leader to be given this task but it is a critical time when the proposed budget is getting finalized.

And it may not last too long.
